Introduction to Diffraction and Low X Dynamics
An attempt is made to illustrate the relation between low x processes and diffrac-tion. ep scattering provides a unique laboratory, a single hadronic target probed by a point like lepton, where one can try to understand diffraction in terms of a colourless exchange in QCD. Low x processes eventually involve aspects of QCD which cannot be described perturbatively. The HERA inclusive measurements...
متن کاملDiscrete-like diffraction dynamics in free space.
We introduce a new class of paraxial optical beams exhibiting discrete-like diffraction patterns reminiscent to those observed in periodic evanescently coupled waveguide lattices. It is demonstrated that such paraxial beams are analytically described in terms of generalized Bessel functions. Such effects are elucidated via pertinent examples.
متن کاملDiffraction from Materials
Diffraction describes the perturbation of the propagation of wave motion when the wave encounters an object with different properties from the medium in which the wave is normally propagating. It is a subset of the more general phenomenon of scattering, for example the scattering of accelerated subatomic particles by nuclei that is explored by nuclear physicists or the scattering of visible lig...
متن کاملPopulation Dynamics of Iran from Sociological Approach
This paper examines intergenerational transmission associated with population dynamics from sociological approach. The discussion is based on the analysis of observations in a country that has experienced substantial changes in family formation resulting in one of the world's most spectacular falls in women's birth rate ever experienced in human history: Iran. Facing fundamental historical expe...
متن کاملX-ray laser–induced electron dynamics observed by femtosecond diffraction from nanocrystals of Buckminsterfullerene
X-ray free-electron lasers (XFELs) deliver x-ray pulses with a coherent flux that is approximately eight orders of magnitude greater than that available from a modern third-generation synchrotron source. The power density of an XFEL pulse may be so high that it can modify the electronic properties of a sample on a femtosecond time scale. Exploration of the interaction of intense coherent x-ray ...
